“Presenting to you one of the scenes most exciting new skool DnB Dancefloor Producers”.
Since 2006, Callide has set in stone his imprint as a consistently solid dancefloor producer and DJ in the Drum and Bass music industry. He’s internationally recognised for his tough edged, gritty dancefloor tracks, and as he hits his 25th World Wide release on vinyl, watch out for new signings, remix’s, collaborations and projects all to come.
It all started in 2005 when he became the unanimous winner on the highly reputed BBC 1Xtra Cutting Room competition with L Double, just what an aspiring producer needs to become motivated and focussed on making his mark in the industry. Since then, Callide has topped the sales charts with some massive releases, touching down on labels such a Mix n Blen, XS Recordings, Deadly Records, Radical Beats, Corrosive Records, DnB Source, Red Records, Junction 11 and Kinetic. He’s also had numerous releases on his own labels System Shock Recordings, and Mechanical Audio.
In 2008 he took System Shock Recordings to the road, with a 2 week label tour around Latin America. He also recruited 3 new artists to the label, Music Mafia’s own Soulpride and Tomi Kain, and from Russia the new kid on the block, Prestige. He joined the likes of Kenny Ken, Chrissy Chris and Mace to become the newest member of the Mix n Blen camp with his release ‘Nuclear Warhead’ which followed the success of the ‘Everyman’ Remixes. He brought to the table the first release of new label Dreadnought Recordings, as well as touching down on 2 labels from London and from Birmingham, Radical Beats and Corrosive Records. His tracks were featured on BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, and even used for video sound tracks and musical documentaries.
In 2009 every thing stepped up a gear, with the number one DJ in DnB supporting his tracks, none other than the mighty Andy C. From Global Gathering to Los Angeles, the new ‘Callide Cuts’ were, and still are getting played in every set. 2009 also brought a high number of international bookings, and 2 massive collaborations with Soulpride (Danger Dub) and Camo (Mash dem Down / 9000 Series). The ever successful System Shock Recordings hit its 11th release and welcomed a new artist to the team, DJ Oder from Portugal.
2010 kicked off in a big way, with a System Shock release party in Portugal along with his forthcoming clip of ‘Ecstasy Rising’ on Junction 11 toppling over 18,000 hits in 1 week on You-Tube alone. Callide has made his 3rd appearance in KnowledgeMag with an interview and podcast mix, along with a podcast for the local premier promotion, Bassix. His Remix of ‘Badboy Sound ft Dread MC’ is anticipated to be Dreadnaughts biggest selling release to date, and his forthcoming release on Junction 11 is already getting some huge plays across the scene.
Callide is well known for his DJ skills and creativity on the decks. He’s appeared on the bill for events such as Random Concept, Movement, Naughty but Nice, Bassman’s Birthday Bash, Gener8er and Devotion, and has featured on the airwaves for Ministry of Sound, Bass Drive, Planet DnB and Life FM. Callide holds down various residencies around the UK but most of all enjoys supporting the every growing local scene alongside local stars and a wealth of up and coming artists. Elsewhere, Callide is by no means a stranger to the international circuit, he regularly performs all over the World and has reached some of the most exclusive locations such as Las Vegas, Mexico, Berlin, Porto Rio, Venezuela and Hollywood to name a few. For 9 years he’s been a leading presenter on Gloucester FM.
Highly recommended by IDJ Mag, featured in Knowledge and marked in ATM as a ‘leader of the new school’, with future ventures planned in L.A, Canada, Berlin, Russia, Holland, Demark, Brazil, Spain and Portugal, along with forthcoming releases and discussions with one of the greatest labels in the industry, watch this space…things are gona get crazy.
Callide is distributed digitally to the world by Blue Pie.
