With over 30 years of IT & Music industry experience, Damien brings his vast network and business skills to the table to expand and grow Blue Pie's roster of artists and labels globally. Damien’s specialist skill is the ability to integrate practical internet based communication systems into businesses and develop new markets.

Blue Pie has expanded its office bases in the USA, UK, Canada and France. Blue Pie represents over 3000 artists, over 200 labels that are distributed or managed in full by the Blue Pie digital distribution systems. The company has a constantly expanding Film, TV, Cable and advertising division that now completes hundreds of license sales every month. In 2012, Damien led his production team to secure TV and Film production work includng Blue Pie being awarded the global production contract for the TV music show called " DJ Central "

The Blue Pie License catalogue has over 3,000,000 audio files that are available for license into white label music stores created by our sister company Blue Vault Digital or they can be licensed on request for Film, TV, Cable and general ad placements. Damien is the driving force and visionary behind the sales team and Blue Pie's global success.

" I started Blue Pie back in the early 90's to look after my sisters musical interests and to also manage the music business interests of a band that I was playing in. Over the next 10 years the label grew and in 2000 we expanded and got serious about the digital music space and here we are today. Each day is fun and I really do not work as I love every day. I get to do what I am passionate about and that is music. I believe that if you can find and follow your passion, you never ever work, it is just what you do but sometimes you have wander around to find exactly what it is that you like and then stick to it. I am just thankful that I was given the right opportunities to be able to play and enjoy music at a young age and make this a part of my life every day. " 

Damien draws on his vast musical knowledge and experience to create leverage for Blue Pie and the companies partners. Blue Pie has become a leader in the music industry as a direct result of the companies practical integration of digital entertainment systems, data management services and the continual exploitation and commercialisation of the Blue Pie music and digital entertainment catalogues around the world.

Throughout 2009 and 2010 as the GFC took hold of the world, Blue Pie encountered many challanges, and under Damien's leadership, Blue Pie managed to grow in one of the world's worst periods in business history.

Anthony started in the CRM Industry over 25 years ago and in that time has managed and implemented People, Process and Technology strategies for a number of Multi National Companies. Over the last 10 years Anthony has worked for Datacom in Australia as its founding Manager. He was responsible for the business in Australia and its growth into the Asian market, building Datacom into a 50 million dollar company. Recently working on the development of Software that combines ‘people process and Technology’ to achieve streamlined business policies has been an additional focus.

With over 60 key presentations at conferences and trade fairs Anthony has demonstrated the value of increasing corporate awareness as a vehicle to increasing opportunity.

Rufus Shrestha has a Masters Degree in Commerce and is our resident technical guru. His combined technical and proven IT industry experience since 2000 provide him with that extra edge as Blue Zebra Digital, Blue Pie Productions and Magic Blue Creative's in-house Senior Systems and Network guru.

Rufus has over 9 years previous experience managing and maintaining complex network infrastructure having worked in various USA based companies in Nepal. His vast talents in diverse IT sector has provided us with an extra edge to deliver a state of the art Digital Assets facility. Rufus is the Magic Blue Creative project manager for our larger systems design, network solutions and software delivery projects.

No problem or project is too small and every problem has an answer is Rufus’s motto.

Rufus keeps the multimedia machines and technology systems online and information flowing 24x7x365 days a year at Blue Zebra Digital, Blue Pie and Magic Blue Creative. He is highly intelligent and every client praises his work. Rufus is our Mr Technology.

Dale Nougher played Roland pianos and synths in rock bands in the 70s.The Tasmanian band 'EARSHOT'supported touring bands such as 'MI-SEX'at festivals and large pubs.(more about the 70s later).Dale Nougher plays blues and rock piano,however many years of solo improvisation has seen Dale traverse all genres.

In 1984 Dale compiled and arranged many years of improvisation on the piano into his 1st selling album titled 'OPEN'.After joining the electronic band 'IQ',Dale and Ken Davis forged a market in what is now known as 'ELECTRONICA'.'IQ'performed live for many years,marketing and pioneering a genre not commonly recognised in the early 80's.

Dale enjoyed the outdoor life,stretching his skill into street theatre and marketing his own music from live gigs,tours,television,production and merchandising. Dale performed over 500 live gigs between 1987 and 1989 alone.All of these gigs were marathon performances lasting up to 8 hours a show.

By the end of 1987 Dale had a huge following and his audiences could finally purchase the music they had been listening to.In 1987 '3 ROSES' was released,selling exclusively at live gigs.In one month Dale had covered the cost of recording and had sold 2,000 units in 6 days of performing and trading.

Dale had pioneered his own style and sound which lead to invitations to Gala events. One such occasion Dale met Lionel Ritchie and his management and was asked to play his Yamaha cp70 in the greenroom of the Sydney Entertainment centre as pre-show dinner music for the band and the crew. Dale got to watch the show from the side of the stage.

'3 ROSES' has sold 20,000 units almost entirely from live performances.Dale has a real love for people and enjoys meeting all his fans.To this day Dale continues his professional career selling his recordings every week as a DJ at Paddington Markets in Sydney and other Sydney art and craft markets.

Michael Horsphol is a music genius and nothing short of rapidly becoming one of Australia's greatest soundscape audio painters. He works with sound the same way that Davinci worked with his pen. Composing music runs in his blood. He sites influences of Howard Shore with His outstanding modern classical giant,"Lord of the Rings" trilogy and Rautavaara a Finnish contemporary classical composer.

He was fortunate to be born into a family where music formed as much a part of my childhood as food and play did. Being immersed in the music of the great classical composers led me to begin learning the piano at an early age, studying traditional piano techniques to obtain performance and teaching diplomas from Trinity College and, later, an honours diploma in composition from the Academy of Musicology (Qld.). His main love has always been composition. 

A prolific writer and one that has an abundance of musical depth and talent to arrange, produce and deliver a truly unique musical cinematic experience. Michael Horsphol is one of Australia's greatest musical composers and is now in charge of Blue Pie's new Orchestral and Classical Composition Arrangements division. We are honoured to have such a talent and a man that we all affectionately now know as "Music Mike ". 

As part of the team developing the Blue Pie catalogue of Classical, theatrical and general film sound track libraries, Michael works with Damien Reilly on the day to day catalogue development. With many new film and sound track projects now flowing through to Blue Pie on a weekly basis you can be assured that they will all have Michaels stamp of quality and approval.

New Content Acquisitions - Asia Pacific - Blue Pie

Petros Georgiades is a key member of the Blue Pie team and has been involved in all aspects of music production for the past 20 years. After studying Piano, Drums and Percussion throughout his High School years, Petros went on to obtain an advanced diploma in sound engineering, and quickly progressed to setting up his first home-based recording studio whilst managing music shops around Melbourne. 

Petros was also played in various bands, performing in a live performance on MTV, in Australia-Wide and Overseas tours, as well as writing original material for several projects, including: "Home and Aerobics" (Recorded for the UK market and featuring the cast of Home and Away), Music and voice-overs for Australia Post , and Music soundtracks for CTV (Shell and Food Plus in-store Television), and promotional soundtracks for Disneyland Paris. 

The Recording Studio to grew its client base and progressed to an interesting mix of corporate recordings (such as Psychologists, Hypnotherapists, Motivational Speakers and Sales Trainers) as well as recording a variety of musical acts including: Blues Greats Nick Charles and Alex Burns, Children's entertainers "The Scallywag Pirates" and Paul Jamieson "The Music Man", The Buzzmatics, Mark Joseph, Say Yeah, Jimmy Christo, Mari Hall, Hey Sister!, The Breakers, Itchy Fingers, Neil Raymond, "Son of Elvis", Citrus, Indi James, Hayley Clare... and many others.... Petros saw the talent and potential in some of these raw unsigned acts, and has made it his mission to expand the services of Petrophonic Productions, to provide representation, production and distribution for his small eclectic mix of talented artists. 

Through Petrophonic Productions Petros aims to grow the catalogue of artists, slowly and selectively, to include a diverse mix to cater to all markets, from Children’s music to Adult Contemporary Rock, Pop, Dance and Easy Listening, reaching the broadest possible audience. Petrophonic artists include Indie James, Marie Hall, Hayley Clare and Jimmy Christo to name a few. 

Petros and his team work with Mark Haughton and the Blue Pie Team in Sydney to develop jingles, new content, relationships and the Petrophonic Artist Roster. We are very honoured to have Petros and his label as a part of the team.

When it comes to song writing Craig Fraser has a great talent for adding the colour, the twist or the quirkiness, which can transform a basic song into a memorable tune that will prick up a listener’s ear and become firmly entrenched in their mind.

Maybe it was a combination of banjo and bagpipe playing grandparents, opera singing parents or just the fact that nobody quite see the world as Craig does but Chris Spencer from Who’s Who of Australian Rock sums it up best with “Fraser’s high standard of song writing means he’s able to write songs that range from ballads to high energy freak-outs.”

Having played the piano for more than 30 years Craig has played Punk, Country, Rock, the list goes on but his true passion is writing and with a vast library of lyrics and melodies Craig is constantly recording and collaborating.

Joining the Blue Pie team is a natural progression for Craig, enabling him to share his talents with the awesome Blue Pie artist roster and create those memorable tunes, jingles, 3 part epics or anything else in between you might need.

Peter Castaldi has worked in film distribution, exhibition, marketing and programming for more than 30 years. He has programmed some of Australia’s most successful independent cinemas (Valhalla Cinemas in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney,  & Byron Bay amongst them) and been behind some of the country’s most innovative and successful Film Festivals, (Goat Island, Byron All Screens, The Olympic Arts Film Festival and The AFC’s Big Screen Tour).  
Peter was for 15 years one of the most highly regarded and most widely syndicated film reviewers and film & entertainment industry commentators. In his time with ABC Radio and Television, Optus Vision and Channel 10, he built a huge loyal audience and also garnered wide industry respect. For ABC Radio and Television, and Optus Vision he was, for a number of years the writer, producer, director and presenter of weekly radio and TV interstitials. For Foxtel he was the writer and producer of a major 30 part major on-air promotion, and a 30 minute “Bali Bombing” commemorative special. For the independent production company Melsa Films he was script editor and narration editor as well as production manager for the 55 minute documentary “Eintein’s Wife” for ABC TV in Australia and PBS in the US.
In August 2008 Peter established “The Pack” as a theatrical releasing consultancy, specializing in feature sales and marketing. Since then “The Pack” has consulted on the release of, and managed the sales and marketing for “Bitter & Twisted”, ,(2008 AFS/ Christopher Weekes) “Acolytes (2009 Rough Beast/Jon Hewitt), “The Combination” (2009 AFS/David Field), “Restraint”, (2009 Filmworks/David Deneen),“Storage”, (2009 Rich Vein), “Going Vertical” (2009 Blue Sky Films) & “Playing For Charlie” (2010 Queen Ant Films), and managed the marketing strategies for “Cedar Boys”, (2009 Mushroom/ Hoyts/Serhat Caradee), “Accidents Happen” (2010 GFG and Hopscotch Films), and “The Clinic” (2010 Transmission/Bluewater Pictures)  
In 2009 Castaldi set up “Pack Screen” as an independent digital feature distribution company specializing in low & micro budget Australian feature productions. Pack Screen now has 5 titles on its book and is in negotiation with 20 other projects to represent them into the new cross-platform releasing models. Pack Screen aims to be Australia's leading independent feature distribution  company specializing in cross platform delivery of independent Australian digital features. Pack Screen also develops features for production.

Peter recently joined Umbrella Entertainment P/L to help their CEO Jeff Harrison establish their theatrical division. Peter is now uniquely positioned to be able to deliver content to all windows and platforms though his own activity and through his business relationships with Umbrella Entertainment and now Blue Pie. Umbrella Entertainment’s  theatrical strategy is to build to 6 – 8 features a year to support their already very successful DVD and ancillaries releasing business.

Pack Screen and Blue Pie also aim to take an annual slate of 2-4 features into limited theatrical distribution (in a traditional releasing strategy) and to then manage these titles either directly or through partnerships into all other terrestrial and non-terrestrial windows. They will further look at up to 5 features solely for cross platform terrestrial and digital cloud distribution releasing.

Colin graduated in law from Monash University and then became actively involved in the music & media industry for the last 25 years. He was Corporate Counsel and head of Legal & Business for Polygram Australia (now Universal Music) overseeing the Group’s legal work for the recording, home video and publishing divisions as well as managing the catalogues of local and international copyrights, trademarks and related deal negotiations with licensors and other media groups such as TV and radio networks.

He returned to the law to become co-partner at Simpsons, Australia’s premier arts law firm, where he specialized in commercial transaction law, licensing and protecting intellectual property, venture structuring and management of IP rights in commercial ventures Clients included The Wiggles, Polygram Records, Warner Music Publishing and MCA Music Publishing.

He founded Abilong in 1996 to advise commercial ventures of all kinds as to how best to secure the maximum benefit from their creative effort and intellectual property. Abilong provides commercial advice to a wide range of enterprises and creative's; clients have included TV program developers, major entertainment events and technology start-ups and Apple Computers (securing the music used on the music used to support the iPod’s launch into Asia). The company is consulting to large UK arena events to create IP Matrix analysis and commercialization plans and provides Expert Witness services to litigation such as the highly publicized “Men at Work/ Kookaburra” copyright case.

He co-authored the 1st edition of the Australian music industry’s standard text "Music Business" (now in its 3rd edition) and lectures graduate and post-graduate courses at various institutions including University of New South Wales College of Fine Arts and the Australian Institute of Music teaching commercial and business management subjects, focusing on media, licensing , commercial strategies, tax and venture structuring. He was on the Australian Record Industry Association’s Copyright Committee and was a member of the of The Law Society of New South Wales’ Ethics Committee for four years.

Abilong also assists new ventures become “capital ready” and matches funders with commercial opportunities. Through this work Abilong has built close relations with a range of US and UK law firms and has developed a niche business, creating and overseeing fling by patent attorneys, of business system patents and a global network of media contacts and associates in record, television and new media companies.

The Indie Music Supervisor - Blue Pie Records

Joseph Miller is the latest inductee into the Blue Pie Production License team acting as Indie Music Supervisor and Business Developer. A young upstart with unlimited potential, Miller has demonstrated his networking abilities across a myriad of reputable agencies and is now undertaking the enormous effort of promoting and endorsing the Blue Pie Production catalogue. He is also undertaking the task of procuring new media placements within the U.S. market for current and up and coming Blue Pie artists.


Studying under a Bachelor of Arts in the Music Industry and graduating with honours with an impressive cumulative GPA of 3.29 at the esteemed Sate University of New York, Oneonta campus, Miller has established a sound knowledge of the creative industries and lent his expertise to Black Rose Productions very early in his now extensive career that now spans over a dozen clients. As executive assistant to Black Rose Productions, he managed all artist marketing programs and campaigns, dictated all upper management correspondence and reviewed, handled and drafted client and production publishing deal memos. Working with Cherry Lane Music Publishing as a special services intern, Miller developed a proficiency in US/foreign PRO/ Copyright databases and demonstrated a keen eye for detail, reviewing composer agreements, calculated A-list production company composer royalty payments and established his interpersonal skills by resolving song share disputes, samples clearance and counterclaims.


Serving as a campus representative under Grammy U Recording Academy, Miller demonstrated his tenacity for promotion and public agency, conducting and publicizing the academies extensive recruitment and membership program. Acting as the liaison between the New York chapter offices and interested students, Miller’s capacity to work autonomously and pragmatically became his calling card and his next venture into interning at Sweet Home Productions landed him a prime role in spearheading marketing campaigns for a student film/music contest and the coveted title of music consultant for a syndicated radio program. With guidance from BMG Rights Management, Miller learnt the interoffice and professional skills that would ultimately benefit him as he developed into a respected member of the New York music scene. Demonstrating research, investigation and micromanagement techniques beyond his years, he examined TV network and production company publishing and licensing partnerships to identify and foster business development and new client leads and managed sub publishing acquisition and termination records and reports.


Now finding success as both an independent music supervisor and freelance music coordinator for CBS sports, Miller now maintains a laundry list of credentials. His name is now mentioned in a myriad of independent features, shorts and student projects and he represents and procures synch placements for unsigned composers and songwriters. Miller also acts a liaison with music library reps, composers, supervisors and clearance consultants in acquiring and placing appropriate music for programs and live broadcasts. Miller continues to give back to the industry by educating aspiring content scorers on fundamental new music business models, which is essential for their future success in the industry.

Rajeev Shirodkar, is a respected Business Professional within the Accounting and Finance industry in Australia and India. Rajeev’s background is profound and widespread in the specialities of Finance, Accounting, Operational Planning, International and Domestic Business Development, Strategic Alliances, Business Growth and Venture Capital Raising. Rajeev commenced his career with Westpac Bank, working with them for 6 years. Then moving on, into the area in Audit of Banking and Finance. Rajeev’s services thereafter were engaged by Green and Gold IT for a period of 9 years, until the business was sold to a blue chip enterprise.

Rajeeve works with the board to manage the company capital requirements and global expansion of the companies software and I.P.patents and a global network of media contacts and associates in record, television and new media companies.

Jake Donehue has been working in the music industry in various roles as a guitarist, singer, song writer and administrator in a career spanning over 20 years.

Jake’s life in the world of arts administration began in 1993 working with the Sydney production of Phantom of the Opera before going on to work on several Sydney events for First Call Ticketing, Ticketmaster and Opera Australia, as well as promoting several successful dance parties and gigs. Upon arriving in Queensland Jake has spent the last 6 years working for Brisbane venue The Tivoli as a box office manager, (or door bitch as he would prefer) putting in over 400 gigs for both national and international touring acts as well as working as a ticket system guru for Ticketek, dealing with a number of major touring acts and a wide variety of venues in both Australia and New Zealand. This experience has given Jake a broad knowledge and a unique view of musical genres, their audiences and musical trends.

Jake’s music history begins in 1988 when a then 13 year old Jake played his first gig and went on to form Sunshine Coast surf punk band Bizarre Gardening Accident, playing around South-East Queensland while finishing high school.

In early 1993 Jake made his way to the much bigger pond of Sydney in what turned out to be a decade long stay, playing in a number of projects, meeting a mixture of great players and complete lunatics and playing everything from folk to thrash along the way. Trudging across NSW in an old van, the Bigtime Operators, a dirty 3 piece blues band became one of Jake's chief sources of employment and enjoyment. For a number of years Jake kept up a punishing schedule of travel and marathon gigs in places seldom heard of by city folk, an experience which went a long way to refining his newly found vocal chords.

Jake's passion has always revolved around writing original music using a mix of rock, blues, and punk to provide a slightly cynical and humorous social commentary of the world. This culminated in the 1995 self titled release “Salmagundi”, which gained national airplay and major label interest before the group dissolved shortly after, and again with the Jake Donehue solo release “The Best of Glam Rockabilly, Volume One” in 2008, gaining international airplay and sales. Jake has also racked up plenty of studio time as a session guitarist and producer. Now based in Brisbane Jake is playing live and working on an album due for release later this year with his band Jake Donehue and the Disgruntled Taxpayers. Check out for more information.

Mr. Batten completed a military degree in Maritime Studies, and maintained an interest in broadcast and communications whilst building a career in the Royal Navy. He entered the commercial world selling video conferencing and broadcasting solutions to media and broadcast organisations in the 80s and was heavily involved in the trial and launching of remote television, pay TV and satellite solutions, HDTV and mobile journalist solutions. This was using mobile VSAT and DAMA technologies with the analogue TOC solutions around the world. He represented Australia on numerous broadcasting and entertainment lobby groups and was involved in the multimedia committees for the bids to the 1994 and 1998 Olympics drafted in 1988. The panel was tasked to define the future media communication and broadcast needs in and towards 2000.

Mr. Batten worked on the project teams for C-class spot beam satellites for the Australian satellite networks at Aussat. In the mid 80s, after leaving the military, he worked in an independent financial brokerage in London setting up corporate loans and venture capital for international traders and private investors and was an active member of the Dangerous Sports Club, a not for profit charity association raising money for good causes around the world.

He has a passion for media mobility and virtual ‘in the cloud’ business solutions across business and entertainment and is always one for generating interest and innovation in media, publicity and content, having written restaurant reviews for “About London” in the 80s. Mr. Batten qualified as a journalist and illustrator for Fairfax Media in the early 90s and from time to time has produced articles and works for the media. He has a breadth and depth of experience with sales, support and professional services delivery as well as strong leadership skills, developed within the Enterprise Software and Services market.

He has been intimately involved in all stages of the rollout and introduction of software, Media, telecommunications, IT and business solutions and services in a range of industries and has managed and lead software and system development teams. This has grown from a “hands on” operational risk and change management background in the military and other operational management experiences.

Marcus has a keen interest in virtual banking and retailing and closely follows Alibaba, E-bay and other holistic trading schemes. He has often worked with card trading systems and their virtualisation across frontiers. He first came across the concept of membership reward cards and advantage cards in the 80s and saw how well run membership schemes hung off a card that became a valued possession of the member: they became dependent on the card. He sees that a card can generate that membership, familiarity with an association. He knows that the card builds a feeling of being part of something.

As the director of corporate cards for Blue Pie Investments, Marcus oversees the company client base and manages the global business development team working with Damien Reilly Blue Pie’s CEO, David Murray, Blue Pie’s Chief Strategy Officer and Larry Bortles, Blue Pies Director of Corporate Finance, to drive sales of the firms white label debit cards and debit branded VISA and MasterCard programs. A man with vision and one who knows that the gold is in the detail; we are honoured to have Marcus on the team.
