Operation Popstar

Operation Popstar, also known as Lou Yoelin, has officially joined forces with Blue Pie Records as an artist, and the anticipation for what lies ahead in this exciting partnership is palpable.

Lou Yoelin, a highly acclaimed and award-winning songwriter and composer in the industry, has undeniably made a lasting impression with his music, having it featured in a staggering 700 TV shows. These include renowned series like CBS’s “Criminal Minds,” “How I Met Your Mother,” NBC’s “The Voice,” Fox’s “American Idol,” E!’s “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” among countless others. Notably, he has crafted theme songs for hits like Trutv’s “Storage Hunters” and Food Network’s “Mystery Diners.”

His journey as a co-founder of the music publishing company Fat Sound Music took him to the “other side of the fence,” where he masterfully placed compositions by other talented creators in popular TV shows like A&E’s “Ozzy and Jack’s World Detour” and E!’s “Very Cavallari.”

What sets Lou Yoelin apart is his unique blend of formal musical training and his roots in the Chicago punk scene. He has penned songs for major label artists under esteemed imprints like Walt Disney Records, Hollywood Records, and Sony Records. Remarkably, his original music catalog is on par with legends like The Beatles, as part of Round Hill Music publishing.

Beyond his musical prowess, Lou wears many hats as an entrepreneur and real estate investor. His educational background includes an MA in Music Composition from UCLA and a BA in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago. He also had the privilege of studying privately with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Augusta Read Thomas.

As we embark on this exciting journey with Lou Yoelin, it’s worth noting some fun facts about him: at the age of 9, he clinched victory in a Pee-Wee Herman lookalike contest, and at 15, he sported a daring purple Mohawk. His interests include a love for bean burritos, Netflix binging, golf, and of course, man’s best friend – dogs.

The prospect of collaborating with Lou Yoelin, AKA Operation Popstar, is a thrilling one, and we eagerly anticipate the incredible musical endeavors that lie ahead in our partnership with this multi-talented artist.
