In the U.S., the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act will try to put a stop to online infringement for artists.
The act is not targeting users, but is targeting large commercial enterprises that prey on users and advertisers who probably have no idea that their brands are being associated with theft.
The U.S. government is therefore looking to criminalise these happenings, whereby enforcing property rights, artists will be able to gain more profits.
