07 Nov 2011

Blue Pie is very pleased to welcome Willie Covington to the Blue Pie team, as the newest Business Development Consultant.

Willie Covington has amassed over 30 years of experience in the music industry, becoming the premier record producer and concert promoter in South Florida. As the former head of Entertainment Galore and EGI Records, he currently serves as the founder and president of Inferno Music Group, a record label specialising in urban music.

Will is intimately familiar with the ins and outs of the music industry, having learnt a great deal during his promotional experiences with over 110 concerts and shows, while simultaneously giving countless of other professional entertainers and cultural performing artists the same opportunity. Some of these artists include The O’Jays, Billy Paul, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Bill Summers and Summer’s Heat and Shirley Caesar among many others. Adding to this impressive repertoire, EGI has provided entertainment for the 1995 Super Bowl (Miami) and the Summer Olympics (Miami) that followed.

Will’s own musical genius can be seen in his numerous performances with major recording artists such as Glady Knight & The Pips, James Brown, Al Green, Betty Wright, Minister Randy Cotton and his own R&B band known as Omari. As an accomplished drummer, Will’s 1985 single “My Guitar Sings the Blues” earned him a coveted Grammy.

Will Covington now serves as a Blue Pie consultant, offering his worldly expertise to a growing and dynamic company. Welcome Aboard Willie!
