David Juliet has been getting the love and plays flowing in from YOU TUBE for his new song ” Out of My Head”. With over 70,000 views in the past few weeks this is looking like its going going going and gone …. viral !
Cutting his teeth in a number of bands, Concerthouse Music artist David Juliet has confidently found his feet on a new solo project that blends the best of the past into an original and unmistakable brand of pop that transcends genre boundaries.
When choosing his career in music David believes that he didn’t have much of a choice in the matter. For him, writing, recording and performing is simply put, an absolute necessity. Living and breathing his art, David is at his most alive, alert and engaged with the experience of his work.
Inspired by performers from a young age, David knew that this was something he had to do. Picking up a guitar at the age of eleven and writing his first songs in his teens, bands quickly followed, for which he sang and wrote the material. Needing a new path away and apart from the egos and opinions that are a part of any band setting, David continued writing, selected a number of songs, booked some studio time, hired musicians and made a record. Recording the music exactly as he wanted to record it, Juliet came out of the studio with Variations: a precise rendering of his vision.
“With his strong vocal, catchy hooks, and powerful colourful lyrics” (Isaac Davis Jr.) you get uncompromised music from the heart and soul of a man who is nothing else but the music he makes. Influenced by a wide range of artists from singer/songwriter icons Bob Dylan, Lou Reed and Leonard Cohen to classic Motown pop Davidproduces a sound worthy of such a spectrum.
Excited by the future, David looks forward to making the records that he wants to make and living this life, for which Juliet believes there is no substitute. Showcasing his distinctive style and musical sensibility, David definitely travels to the beat of a different drum.
It’s been a great start to the year for David Juliet. The video for his new single “Out of My Head,” is now appearing on video stations across the United States and around the world.
The video is the first released by Juliet in support of his acclaimed debut CD Variations. It features Juliet playing in a dimly lit bar for a beautiful, young woman.
“Out of My Head’ was that song from the record that constantly received that ‘I love that song’ reaction from my fans, so it was the obvious choice for the first video,” says Juliet. “I wanted to keep the premise simple,” he says. “It’s really a love song at heart, so I felt the video should focus on the relationship between two people. A beautiful women walks into a bar, and I play only for her. I like that idea – there’s a real sense of romance there. And the woman leaves with me. Really, what could she do – being serenaded by a full band with the singer singing a song only for her?”
Juliet is planning to begin his 2013 tour this summer, starting with his stomping grounds of Toronto and New York City, and continuing across the United States and into Europe. “We’re still putting the tour together, booking venues, making decisions. We’re planning to get things rolling in June or July,” says Juliet. “First stop will likely be New York, then we’ll see where the wind takes us.”
David will be posting tour dates and news via his twitter and facebook accounts. Follow him at @davidjuliet, or like his fan page at facebook.com/davidjulietfanpage for updates.
