Jack Derwin's New Zealand Tour 2013
12 Feb 2013

On January 19, Jack Derwin kicked of his New Zealand tour at the Blues and Brews BBQ Festival in Hastings, Hawkes Bay, North Island. On a beautiful stage surrounded by trees at the local showground, Jack performed a 45 minute set consisting of mostly originals from his new CD ‘Covered All in Blue’ along with a few cover versions. Jack was the only solo performer on the day and impressed fans with a rousing blues and acoustic performance.

Jack then headed down to the South Island by ferry to perform his next gig at the intimate and unique Le Café Picton. The very next night he played at the majestic Boathouse in Nelson which has spectacular water views! It was a great venue with a large crowd which Jack had up and dancing. For his third gig, Jack played at the Secret Garden which had a great vibe in dinner show environment. Keeping up with his busy schedule, Jack headed near Havelock in the south to perform on a sheep farm surrounded by mountains. This was an outdoor concert and fans travelled from near and far to come see him perform.
After a short break, Jack came back refreshed to play at the Blues, Brews and BBQ Festival in Blenheim back on the South Island. The vibe for Jack’s set was amazing, there were fans in the crowd in fancy dress and he performed another outstanding set. Jack was also well received by new fans at the festival, with great CD sales and local followers also came to his last gig at Le Café that night. To top off the evening, jack was asked to be a special guest and performed a duet with Laura Sonneveld who had also played at the festival during the day.
