17 Sep 2014

Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album “The Endless River” in October 2014. It is being spruked as an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions, which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright, the album is being produced by David Gilmour and Phil Manzanera.

Phil has spent the last two years on and off producing the new Pink Floyd album ‘The Endless River’ with David Gilmour, Youth and Andy Jackson. It will be released in the autumn and is the band’s first new album in 20 years!

Phil Manzanera is one of the UK’s best-known musicians and record producers, having shot to prominence in the early 70s as the lead guitarist with the seminal band, Roxy Music. He is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s leading guitarists and is in much demand both as a performer and record producer.

Phil Manzanera is best known for his role as the lead guitarist with Roxy Music. Roxy Music’s rise was meteoric, with the band being hailed as a major stylistic influence of the early 1970s. Manzanera has always pursued solo projects, both recording his own albums and producing for others. His first major credit as producer was in 1975; after spotting the New Zealand group Split Enz, who had supported Roxy on their 1974 Australian tour, Manzanera produced the group’s second LP, which was recorded in London.

As a writer, producer and solo artist, Phil Manzanera has worked with many of the big names of modern music, such as Steve Winwood, David Gilmour, John Cale,Godley & Creme, Nico and John Wetton. He has co-written material with many artists, including Brian Eno, Tim Finn, Robert Wyatt and Gilmour.

This won’t be Phil’s first time working with the famous British Prog-Rock outfit with the British musician and record producer Manzanera having co-produced David Gilmour‘s album “On an Island” in 2006 and playing guitar in Gilmour’s band for tours in Europe and North America.
