Get Out There with Key Loch and Sahra!
7 / 03 / 2022

It wasn’t very long since we last had a look at what Key Loch and Sahra were up to in the new year… well, it’s now March all of a sudden and Kisses is still popular across streaming networks and the like!

The duo of Key Loch and their main mixing man Gabe Rizza went to town on this one, and Sahra’s vocals brought down the house. Tom Polce also pitched in for the stellar TP mix, rounding it out to an EP that won’t be forgotten any time soon. It was truly an awesome way to start 2022 for Sahra. But what’s the story, are they gonna run out of steam now? Not on your life! There’s still plenty more to cover… spoiler alert for some future articles, but Key Loch and Sahra have really been going off like a rocket! This time we’ll look at their latest collaborative EP, Out There!

This synthy 80s-sounding track is bound to get stuck in your head, and you have three different flavours of mix to choose from! The cyberpunk aesthetic blends surprisingly well with the country pop vocals, and the filters and variances in tempo all bring different moods and ideas to the track in many different ways. Gabe Rizza went nuts mixing all of these for weeks on end, pouring his creativity out through the speakers over and over again until it was where it needed to be, to the tiniest factor! And of course, the rock solid foundation of Sahra’s vocals brings it all together in a big way.

From a small country town north of Sydney, Australia, Sahra was introduced to the world of entertainment at an early age. Even as a child, Sahra was convinced that performing would be her life. Since then she has journeyed far.

Singing alongside Australian acts such as Vanessa Amorossi and Richard Clapton, touring with bands throughout Australia, and performing both as a singer and actress on television, Sahra is no stranger to the entertainment industry. Sahra and Blue Pie Director, Damien Reilly, first met in 1996 and they have remained friends ever since. The duo began writing in 1997, and put together their first song “One Sweet Day” with Producer Phil Munro. Since that time, Sahra Damien and Phil all set out to write a solid body of songs. These would all aim to be timeless and true to Sahra’s vocal ability. To see things come full circle for them once again like this (with Damien’s work on these remixes as part of the Key Loch duo) is incredibly satisfying. Especially as this is an all new composition and really hearkens back to the good old days in that way! AND it’s not the only new composition! Of course there’s the aforementioned Kisses, but there’s still plenty more to come, so stay tuned and keep your eye on the news!

Sahra’s angelic voice, coupled with her ability to take you away to the true essence of the songs that she sings, makes her work very unique. She has that special magic that stars possess and she truly shines on her own. That’s why it’s so exciting that her music is going to get its time in the limelight like this! Let’s all tune in and wish Sahra the best!

Gabe Rizza is a mixmaster for Key Loch and has spun his unique musical aesthetic with plenty of tracks, both original and remix! His magic touch is distinct, and his love of percussion and bass really shows in the work he does. You can hear his considerations for every little adjustment to his mixes when you listen to them, especially in these three new mixes of varying tone and feeling, and that level of craftsmanship is definitely refreshing in a mainly automated industry!
