Merry Christmas from DL Down3r!
1 / 12 / 2021

You might remember back in August, we teased that DL Down3r had a Christmas album in the works. Well deck the halls and slam the eggnog, it came early this year! To celebrate the start of December 2021, we’re proud to present MERRY CHRISTMAS, DL’s own take on the silly season, complete with parody lyrics and his trademark smoky voice.

In particular, the first track on the album, the irreverent “12 Days of Christmas in Oildale” is a hilarious parody that isn’t one for the kids – completely off the walls and bleak, this may be entirely relatable to certain listeners out there, especially if you’re up Oildale Cali way. If so, lock your windows, or the naked man from every verse will surely climb right in. This is the funniest song from Down3r since Clown!

The rest of the album has traditional Christmas tracks too, though. Perfect if you’re after DL’s smooth voice to keep you warm this December! Down3r easily proves with this album that he isn’t just a rapper, he can sing really well too, and you’ll be able to hear that in how into the festivities he gets! But that’s not the end of it. We have funny as hell parodies, classic Christmas songs, but also poetry readings! After all… a lot of people say that “rap” is “Rhythm And Poetry”, so the next step from this album is straight up Christmas classic poems! From Ring Out Wild Bells to Winter Time and What Christmas is as We Grow Older, this album has a bit of everything for everyone! Music, poems, and parodies… well, at the end of the day, isn’t that the modern Christmas celebration in a nutshell? This album wraps it all up neatly with a bow on top, and is a must-listen this Christmas… and is a contender to become a regular end of year tradition! Throw it on every Christmas and celebrate, Down3r style. We know we will be!

Through fierce and funky west coast rap, Down3r shares his prolific work with the rest of the world, and the stage with west coast rap legends such as Coolio, Brown Boy, Jay Tablet, Lil Young, Snoopyblue, LadyDice, Baby Bash, Steel City Hustlers, King Z and DJ Kane to name a few.

From powerful messages, lyrical poetry and sharp comments on society, to G-funk and Trap/EDM hype songs, he proves that age and experience is the opposite of a liability in today’s rap game. Blast it loud, get ready to feel something, and rest assured knowing that hip hop never died!
