Fernando Fernandez of Fernando’s Secrets has served up a new episode for you all to enjoy, Catalan Style!
Come along with Fernando to Barcelona and up into the hills of Catalunya to visit small medieval towns and prepare typical Catalan food. These are very autumnal dishes made from seasonal ingredients: baked fish on a bed of tomatos and potatoes and panallets for dessert!
Panallets are about as typical Catalan as you can get. A pastry made from ground almonds and yams rolled in pine-nuts with just a hint of sugar, they’re found throughout Catalunya during the Fall season. They also tour a popular Barcelona bakery and a ghost town in Lleida, where they visit an oven used hundreds of years ago.
